APOCRYPHA

The image below is of the Table of Contents of a King James 1611 Version of the Bible. The Apocryphal Books were located between the Old Testament, and The New Testament as seen in this image. Apocrypha means "things that are hidden, secret".
The Apocrypha was in the King James Version of the Bible for 274 years, but was removed in 1828 in some Bibles because some said, among other things, that the Books were not Divinely inspired. For some reason, it is even being suggested now that they were never a part of The Bible, and that people should not read these Books because of "doubtful authenticity." However the Dead Sea Scrolls, which some date from 200 B.C. to 70 A.D., included parts of the Apocrypha.
Some of the Apocryphal Books were referenced in the Bible. The Book of Jasher (the translated title means Book of the Upright, or Book of the Just) was referenced in Joshua 10:13, and in 2 Samuel 1:18. The Book of Enoch is referenced in Jude 4, 6, 13, 14-15; 2 Peter 2:4;3:13. (For a full list of references see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-canonical_books_referenced_in_the_Bible) . Go to a library and look at the very old Bibles. They most likely will include the Apocrypha.)
Interesting quote from Simple English Wikipedia, "The translators of the King James Bible said that these books were written to prepare the people for Jesus , in the same way as John the Baptist did."
Others also say, the Apocrypha was removed because Slaves were beginning to learn to read and would have recognized themselves as the Children of Israel and would have recognized themselves as the people who would receive the special Promises of The Most High. With such knowledge, it would have been difficult to keep them enslaved.
